Contemporary Surrealist, Clinton Deckert is renowned for his ongoing series of oil and alkyd paintings on canvas entitled "SURREAL MINDSCAPES". This body of work provokes and stimulates the imagination drawing the viewer into enigmatic scenarios contradicting the expected. Deckert is past president and current vice president of the Board of Directors at Artworks Gallery in Hartford, CT which has been voted "Best Gallery" the last three years in a row by The Hartford Advocate readers poll. He has had three solo exhibitions at Artworks Gallery, Hartford, CT. He has shown extensively in Southern New England and his work is represented in private collections from coast to coast.

His solo exhibitions also include Naugatuck Valley Community College, Waterbury, CT, where his work is also part the permanent collection, Pierce Street Gallery at Nutmeg Television, Plainville, CT, Zuzu's Basement Gallery, Hartford, CT, and twice at The Eclipse Salon Gallery, Boston, MA. His two person exhibitions include The Promenade Gallery at The Bushnell and The Pump House Gallery both in Hartford, CT. This Surrealist painter has received numerous awards and has been selected for many juried exhibitions including seven shows at The New Britain Museum of American Art, New Britain, CT, including one by The Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts. Deckert's work has also been shown at Kougeas Gallery, Winter Invitational, East Boston, MA, Small Walls Gallery, Hartford, CT, Exposure Ltd. Manchester, CT, Sparrow-Gate Gallery, Simsbury, CT, Gallery on the Green, Canton, CT, The Art Guild, Farmington, CT, The Salt Box Gallery and The Club House Gallery both in West Hartford, CT and The Stamford Art Association Historical Society, Stamford, CT for The National Faber Birren Color Award Show.

Deckert has been interviewed about his work live on talk radio on the Colin McEnroe Show. He has lectured at The Arts Association of Meriden, Meriden, CT and at Naugatuck Valley Community College where one talk is recorded on CD ROM highlighting their permanent collection. He also has had work selected to exhibit at the Connecticut Office of the U.S. Senate.

Clinton Deckert's work has been favorably reviewed numerous times in Art New England, The Hartford Courant and The Journal Inquirer. His work has also appeared twice in The New York Times, The Stamford Advocate, The Herald and numerous times as critic's choice in The Hartford Advocate. He has also appeared on the cover of The Hartford Advocate representing Artworks Gallery in The Best of Hartford Issue.
